We believe that healthcare is a fundamental human right.
Mission
At Project Equity for All (EFA), our mission is to bridge the gap in healthcare access for underserved individuals and families in Berkeley and Oakland. By providing essential care packages, medical resources, and advocacy tools, we strive to empower communities disproportionately affected by poverty and health disparities. We believe that healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and we are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind due to financial or systemic barriers.
Our Vision
We envision a future where healthcare prioritizes people over profit. A future where no one has to choose between medical care and basic necessities. A future where our communities have access to essential health services, regardless of their socioeconomic status. We aim to create lasting change and build a healthcare system that truly serves everyone.
Our Story
Project EFA was founded by Ella Mayor, an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, who recognized barriers in healthcare accessibility through her career as a CVS Pharmacy Technician, community work at the Ventura County Medical Explorers, and witnessing the disastrous policies of our current government on Alameda County.
Partnering with United for Health, Suitcase Clinic, Berkeley Free Clinic, and San Francisco Free Clinic, Project EFA is a grassroots movement focused on direct aid, advocacy, and community support.
Our Clients
We serve individuals and families facing economic hardship, including those experiencing homelessness and those who lack access to affordable healthcare services. Our work directly supports:
✓ Uninsured individuals who struggle to afford medical care
✓ People experiencing homelessness who face significant barriers to accessing basic health services
✓ Low-income families who are disproportionately impacted by healthcare disparities
✓ Students and young advocates passionate about driving change in healthcare policy
With over 4,000 people experiencing homelessness in Alameda County alone, and 12.4% of residents in California’s 12th Congressional District living below the poverty line, our mission has never been more urgent. By distributing care packages filled with hygiene products, first aid supplies, and other essentials, we are providing immediate relief while advocating for long-term policy change.
